Recent Trainings and Resources

NRCDV frequently releases new and updated resources and training materials to help meet the information needs of state domestic violence coalitions, their member domestic violence programs and other allied organizations seeking to end domestic violence. These training and resources cover a variety of topics including, but not limited, to: advocating for victims in contact with an abusive partner or ex-partner, conflict resolution within domestic violence shelter programs, reducing rules in shelter, enhanced services to children and youth exposed to domestic violence, social media engagement, economic empowerment strategies, effective program management and policy advocacy approaches, social and racial justice and more.

Storytelling for Social Change: Sharing Your Childhood Story of Domestic Violence

The Adult Children Exposed to Domestic Violence (ACE-DV) Leadership Forum has released a new speaker’s guide published as part of the NRCDV’s From the Front of the Room series. Specific to sharing childhood stories of domestic violence, the guide explores considerations for storytellers in harnessing the power of your experience to inspire action, hope, strength, and unity.

Presenters reflected on their own experiences as seasoned storytellers within the context of their movement work, offering practical tips and strategies for building your capacity to bring voice to this unique experience.

National Call of Unity: Why I’m an Advocate (Teleconference)

Every year the National Call of Unity kicks off Domestic Violence Awareness Month by offering an opportunity to mourn, celebrate, and connect with advocates from national, state, and community-based organizations, governmental agencies, allied movements, survivors and their family and friends.
