Purple Paw Project 2015

The 3rd annual Purple Paw Project will host a variety of pet-friendly activities along with domestic violence education and resources for our communities. This event will include Scavenger Hunt, Pet Costume Contest, Food trucks, Grooming, Kids Barking Contest, Doggie Photo Booth, Adoptions, Vendor Tables, and Awareness Information & Activities. Register yourself, your family, and your dogs for this festival! Pre-registered attendees will receive a t-shirt and a "doggie bag" with a variety of goodies for humans and pets!

There's No Excuse for Abuse, Orange County Domestic Violence Task Force Annual Awareness Event

On Saturday, October 10, 2014, at 9 a.m., the Orange County Domestic Violence Task Force will hold its annual awareness event and walk in Harbor Park (located in the lakefront area of Baldwin Park at the end of New Broad Street) located at 4990 New Broad Street. The purpose of the event is to share resources to assist in eliminating abuse in our community. It is also a time where we remember and honor those who have lost their lives as victims of domestic violence.

The Philly400 Run

The Philly400 Run is a 5K Walk/Run led by the Speranza Human Compassion Project and Philadelphia City Councilman Kenyatta Johnson, honoring the 400 domestic violence victims who call 911 every day here in Philadelphia. Did you know that every day, here in Philadelphia, 400 women and children call 9­1­1 screaming for help from a violent partner or parent? Around 150,000 families in Philadelphia are plagued by chronic violence annually.

5K Run/Walk for Shelter

The Shelter for Help in Emergency's annual 5K Run/Walk for Shelter foot race is a fun and exciting opportunity for the community to help us raise awareness about domestic violence and to show their support for the work of the Shelter. The race is held each November on the first Saturday of the month. Runners receive a t-shirt featuring original artwork of the winning student from our annual Peace on Earth Begins at Home art contest. At the end of the race, runners have the opportunity to win wonderful prizes generously donated by local businesses.

8th Annual Walk for Hope

Join Mutual Ground on Saturday, October 17th, 2015 for our 8th Annual Walk for Hope at Fabyan Parkway Forest Preserve in Geneva. Help us celebrate our 40th Anniversary while participating in our 8th Annual Walk for Hope! Join survivors, victims, and family and friends of Mutual Ground in this 5K Walk. Over the years, we have increased participation to be up over 300 walkers and 75 volunteers. Great day of fun, with Fido and the family. Registration starts at 7:30am. 




Story by Story: Sixth Annual Stair Climb to End Domestic Violence

Every day, free legal services provided by Her Justice make happy endings and new beginnings possible for battered women and their children—story by story, case by case. Join the 1,000 Her Justice supporters and their friends who will come together to climb 43 stories of the 245 Park Avenue skyscraper, located one block from Grand Central Terminal. Your participation will raise vital financial support and awareness for Her Justice. Be a part of a critical chapter in the life of an abused family. Step up and register today!

7th Annual Angels Against Abuse 5K Walk & Run

The 7th Annual Angels Against Abuse 5K Event will benefit the Guardian Angel Community Services’ Groundwork Domestic Violence Program and Suzy’s Caring Place Transitional Housing Program. Participants have the option to register as a runner or a walker. Professional timing provided for runners. Team registration is available and encouraged. A free t-shirt will be given to the first 100 to register online. This event is open to all ages, pet and stroller friendly.
