DVAM 2016 is Now!

Your Life Matters, Stop the Violence!

Zion Baptist Church invites you to a Domestic Violence Awareness Seminar/Breakfast on Saturday, October 15, 2016 from 10:00am to 12:00pm. The event includes survivor speakers and advocates, a seminar titled "A Fashion Affair” and clothing resale, with all proceeds going towards victims of domestic violence. Every attendee will add one chalk egg with known victims name to one large vase. There will also be gifts and giveaways! 

Plus Size Wellness Launch Event I

This is an all purple affair in support of Domestic Violence Awareness Month! There will be a special presentation titled "Bye Felicia! Detaching from the Security Blanket Called ‘Fat’” by Tonya Keatz-El – a plus size wellness advocate. Tonya is a domestic violence survivor and she shares how she consciously chose to gain weight and find security in fat. Event includes food, drinks, music, and vendors. This is a networking event, so bring your business cards and promotional materials!

Women and Waffles

Women will be treated to a free brunch and stand in solidarity as we honor survivors and remember local victims of domestic violence. 

An Empty Place at the Table

An evening of reflection and prayer sponsored by the Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary (IHM) and the Women's Resource Center at the IHM Center on the campus of Marywood University.

DVAM Luncheon

Safe Nest holds their annual DVAM luncheon at the Rio All Suites Hotel & Casino featuring victim testimony regarding her story.

This event will take place at the Michigan Women's Hall of Fame in Lansing. Partners include: MSU Safe Place, Capital Area Response Effort, Lansing Police Department, EVE, and the Women's Center of Greater Lansing.
